We came
to Split on Friday 29.9. il the evening. Sun had already gone down and it seemed
that city was pretty and calm. We took buss from the airport to the city and
after we got up the bus we put maps on and started walking. Walk to uphill was
good. Hotel was found easily. Hotel room seemed quite normal, small if you ask
me. But bed was very incoming. And even if I didn't sleep very well, it anyway
gave enouht energy to wake up to the morning.
On
Saturday we had one wonderful day ahead us before studing Erasmus starts at
16.30. We, me and my colleague decided to climb up to Marjan-hill.
Approximately 350m above the sea. So we started walking. Mind you here is about
26°C so if you compare it to Finland its only 20 degrees more.
First
we walked to centre and then we continued to Marjan. After 4km we started to
climb up the stairs… 51,48….about 270stairs.. I counted.. heartbeat only
maximum 274. And after the stairs uphill walking. Up up up…
Up on
the hill the sights were unbelievably amazing. I can't praise them enough with
words. Just beautiful!
Few
churches, in two church there was something saint… I felt it. It went though
me.. after the hill we started walking down. There were different routes,
asfalt or minor sand road and of course we took the sand road through the
common kroatians homes. Every single yard had a n olive tree growing . In many
yarsd there were chickens or else.
And the
butterflies…yellow and ..big as birds. And lizzards…smells and sights were just
amazing.
On our
way down the hill we saw sandbeach with sunlovers. Went to an other bech ,
stonebeach and there we also had to swim. That was a must because we were quite
sweaty and tired after walking about 10km. Then we walked along the city couat
line to on bazaarplace -old town with market in the middle. There you coud have
fruits and food stuff but also anything to carry home as a gift. We managed to
the hotel. Via maps but who counts.
After
quick shower and few minutes legs up in the wall , we started orientated to our
Erasmus course Chritical thinking.1 6 km walk to the school. There we were
taking care by Dario. Afternoon went very quickly and it was intresting to
notice how similar we teachers are regardless where we live.
Well,
in the evening still walk to the hotell and then sleep sleep sleep.
Sunday,
the longest day of this week. Starting at nine and continuoing until 8
pm.
Some
critical thinking and mind fulness. Little brake and during that we went to
Diocletianus palace. After that we were surprised bocause of so much crowd was
in the streets. The cause was football.
After a
break I asked coud we go to see the football match. We could not go to arena
but to hear 35000 people to sing and shout all the time was quite huge.
After
lessons quickly to eat and bed. Exhausting day!
On
Monday was also quite long day. But durin the brake we went to see 3d
Diocletianus story. I Recommend. It was good! On the evening was cultural round
in castle…. Somehow it was not so interesting cos we had been ther already
3hours…
On
Tuesday 3.10 schoolvisit. In tecnological vocational school. At first I
didn t want to go because we are almost on holiday. But it was good that we
went cos they told how they taech their kids with special needs. It was
interesting. After that we had mind fullnes on the beach.
And
then we had this island Hvar visit… boat trip took few hours. We had time to
walk along the island beach and visit sematery catholic one. The
athmosphere was quite weird. Like we didn’t belong there.there was this lady,
dressed in black and if she could punish us for beeing there she would have
done it. When she turn around and saw us I wondered the Bathilda Backshot from
Harry Potter.. scary!
Well
after that visit we went to a pizzeria and ate the best meal we had had
this week. It really was good.
And
then to the boat and to Spilt.
This
day was tired.
On Wednesday was Darios last lesson. Brain gym. And unfortunately we had to skip the last lessons at least half an hour.. If it could have been possible I would have chanced tuesday and Wednesday lessons. How ever, we walked to the centre got to a minivan and drove to Krka national park. Amazing place with waterfalls and stuff. About six we came back and went to a pizza.
On
Thursday… two lessons of critical thinking. So much old but also new stuff that
it could easily have taken the whole day to learn. It was about
misinformation, and so on. After lesson we went to eat. I had banana
split! And then one hour in the beach. Can you imagine. I have been a week in
Split and i have spent ONE hour at the beach. Crazy!
After
this beach we had to walk to mall. Joker was the name . And it wasn’t a
sightseen I would have wanted to see. Then to hotel and back to beach. There
were Farewell Party which wasnt informed to us until this morning. Ivana asked
if we would see in the evening and we were …öööö..why? It appeared that
they had forgotten to tell almost half of the couse members.
Well we
were there. And even if there wasn’t all , it was nice.
On
Friday was our last lesson. Tresure hunting by goose hunt . We were supposed to
find differend kind of things from the town or do things and get a video about
it. After that we watched all group`s videos and got certification passing the
course. After that we went to eat and pick up our luggages and head to the
airport. Long waiting in the airport and our plane left 20minutes before its
time. We could have achieved the last plane to Oulu if we knew the other was so
early. Well. Sleeping at the airport sucks. You never get a sleep there. But at
least we were in our own coutry. At 7.15 goes our flight home. Hope it is in
time…
